Date: 2022-09-26 04:05 pm (UTC)Thank you!
my mom and i were just talking about Kai Winn & how that actress really did just do The Most with that role.
I have rewatched a lot of the DS9 eps Winn was in over the last year or so, and she really was fantastic playing that character. I'm not sure I have ever heard anyone say the word "child" in a more condescending tone than the one she used!

Date: 2022-09-26 11:41 pm (UTC)Winn was always, always about the power - the ep she was introduced in proved it to me. I watch the the other eps now and it still feels like she was about power first, faith second. And what little faith she had wasn't as strong as Kira's or even Sisko's. They both truly believed in the Prophets, which really got under her skin since Sisko wasn't even born Bajoran. It would have driven her crazy to know the Propehts told him that he was of Bajor.
I really can't imagine would have been like if anyone else but Louise Fletcher had played Kai Winn.
